Matthew H. Steele, MD grew up in Florida and received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Florida. Dr. Steele knew at an early age that medicine was his calling and was accepted into the highly selective Junior Honors Medical Program, allowing him to complete both degrees in seven years. After completing his medical education in 1998, Dr. Steele completed an internship and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The Louisiana Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Steele completed his plastic surgery fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2006 and was invited to join the faculty to help teach young plastic surgeons in training. During his five years at the University of Florida, he was heavily involved with teaching undergraduate and medical students, as well as general surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, and oral surgery residents. He received numerous honors and teaching awards for his tireless dedication and commitment to education. Dr. Steele has published extensively and has presented his work at national and international meetings. He is double board certified in both Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Steele relocated to Fort Worth, Texas in 2011 to pursue private practice. While he and his family enjoyed their time in Texas making great memories and friends, Dr. Steele decided that a smaller community would be the best place to raise his family. Dr. Steele was recruited to join Dr. Smith, bringing his expertise in aesthetic surgery of the breast, body, and face as well as his extensive experience in reconstructive surgery of the face and breast.
Dr. Steele has received numerous awards and recognitions for his expertise in cosmetic surgery including Top Doctor, in the Fort Worth Texas Magazine 4 years in a row, RealSelf.com Top 100 for 2015-2016, and membership in The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Steele has also traveled to Honduras on several occasions to participate in medical missions focused on treating children with cleft lips/palates.
Dr. Steele enjoys many outdoor activities with his family: wife, Keri and his 3 children, Tyler, Bella, and Sam. The Steele family is very excited about their move to the Siouxland area and have received such a warm welcome that Sioux City already feels like home.
