Suffering from a Cold, Fever or Sickness?
If you experience any health problems before surgery, please notify your doctor.
The Day Before Your Surgery
A nurse from Pierce Street Same Day Surgery will
contact you by telephone. The nurse will:
- Tell you when to arrive at
the
Pierce Street Center — usually one
hour prior to your surgery unless you need
to come earlier
for testing.
- Instruct you how to prepare for surgery.
- Gain information about your health history.
- Obtain the names of medications you are now
taking. The amount and how often and why you
are taking them.
- Learn
if you
have allergies.
- Obtain information on your previous surgical
experiences, including any
problems you may have had with anesthesia.
It is helpful
to know if anyone in your immediate family
has a history of problems with anesthesia.
If
we have not reached you by 4 p.m.
call Pierce
Street Same Day Surgery at 712-294-7777.
